I apologize for not making a post last week, but I was completing the final aspects of my e portfolio for the SJSU SLIS program. For the internship though, things are wrapping up in the last three to four weeks. I have made the revisions to the social media document, and will be sending that in to staff today to continue developing it. Also, I will be submitting the collection development policy this week, and will be making as many revisions as possible until the end of the semester so they have as close to a working document as possible.
On a side note, I was able to write a review for the Lubuto Library Project, on great nonprofits.org, and was really excited when the staff came gland asked for my review as an intern, which would be the first review of its kind. Any publicity I can give the organization is a plus. On an additional side note, the Lubuto Library Project’s Facebook page “Likes” has reached 425 “Likes” as of this morning. When I started as intern they had 67, so I am glad that I am increasing the number of people aware of this great organization.
Lastly, today I am attending a Booklist webinar on the procedures and evaluation processes involved in weeding. This will give me additonal information for the collection development policy.
I cannot thank the staff of the Lubuto Library Project enough so far! They have been excellent in communicating with me, providing feedback, encouragement and making sure I stay on track. I am very thankful that I can help out in any capacity.
Until next time: Mucaale kabotu! (It means goodbye in Chitonga, one of the many languages spoken in Zambia!)
